Updated Program Agenda (updated 07.17.2007)

OVERVIEW
This special seminar, for mortgage servicing company in-house legal counsel, mortgage servicing attorneys, and their paralegals & litigation managers, will provide important updates and discussion on our industry's most critical legal issues.

  • Education Sessions: The seminar will open with a review of Hot Topics & New Cases / Legislation. The closing session will be a Bankruptcy Roundtable (a Chapter 13 Trustee and two Bankruptcy Judges are confirmed panelists). At lunch, we will again have a keynote speaker, Congressman Ed Perlmutter (D-CO), who serves on the House of Representatives' Financial Services Committee, and is a member of its Subcommittee on Financial Institutions & Consumer Credit. Also offered are three total breakout sessions (two are concurrent), providing an opportunity to focus on areas of special interest to you and your company, in a highly interactive roundtable setting. Our knowledgeable panelists will drill down on practical aspects related to:
    • FDCPA and Class Actions
    • Defending Against Foreclosure Litigation & Borrower Disputes
    • Title Disputes & Insurers' Duty to Defend
  • Panelists: This year, speakers will include a number of knowledgeable, experienced USFN attorneys who will lead and contribute to each of the 5 sessions. We also have a lineup of repeat presenters and new guest speakers who will share their views from fresh and interesting angles. Please download the brochure (see link below) for a list of confirmed guest speakers and panelists.
  • CLE Credit: CLE accreditation for all sessions is being sought in those states with CLE requirements. Attendance at all four (4) consecutive sessions (the maximum possible) is expected to earn approximately 5.00 hours of CLE credit (approx. 6.00 hours for states using a 50-minute hour). Ethics credit, or other specialized CLE hours, will not available. See the registration form (click on link below) to request CLE credit - be sure to specify the state(s) for which you are seeking CLE credit (there is a nominal fee of $25 per state, for CLE processing). Click here for a list of Approved CLE Credit by State.
  • Meals/Social Functions: The following meal functions/social activities are included in your registration fees - Cocktail Party (6:00 pm to 7:00 pm) and Dinner (7:30 pm to 9:30 pm) on Thursday evening (click here for map/directions to Thursday evening's events), Breakfast and Lunch on Friday.  Check the brochure (see link below) for additional details.
