Community Service Project - Second Harvest Food bank of Metrolina

Wednesday, June 8 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

This food bank volunteer project is not only a means to give back to our host city, it’s also an interactive way to get to know your peers and contribute to the community at the same time. In fiscal year 2014-2015, SHFBM distributed 46 million pounds of food and other essential grocery products throughout their 19 county service region.  18.1% of their service area population lives in poverty including over 188,000 children and over 41,000 seniors. SHFBM provides food for almost 650 partner agencies including soup kitchens, emergency pantries, residential care facilities, homeless shelters, senior programs, and low income daycares.
